TOP FLOWER PHOTO LOCATIONS IN UTAH

Are you looking for beautiful flowers to be in your engagement or bridal/formal pictures? Here are my favorite Utah locations to go to and the best time of the year to shoot there.

Utah State Capitol Cherry Blossoms

At the Capitol, the blossoms are gorgeous and they usually are the first to bloom before anywhere else. The best time to shoot here is anywhere from the first to third week of April depending on the year. The best time to go is in the morning or on a weekday evening. The weekends will be very crowded.

orem & elk ridge Orchards

The last week of April to the first couple of weeks of May is best to get the blossoms in orchards. The peaches (pink blossoms) usually come first. Then the cherry (white blossoms) come next. I have a great local orchard in Orem that I love or one in Elk Ridge. I love shooting in orchards!

Tulip Festival, Thanksgiving Point

Thanksgiving point has their tulip festival in April and May. Ashton Gardens is beautiful and there are so many pretty spots here. Consider renting a golf cart to get around quicker. Also try to avoid weekends because of crowds. Go here to see their photography fees.

KyhV PEAK, Provo Canyon

This location is about a mile up Kyhv peak road. The yellow flowers bloom mid to late May. It has beautiful views of Provo canyon.

buffalo peak, provo canyon

One of my favorite spots to shoot. This location is stunning in the summer and fall whether there are flowers or not. There are yellow flowers that bloom in a big field about the 2nd or 3rd week of June. This location has a 10 minute bumpy dirt road that you have to drive on. There is also a 5-10 hike to get to the flower field.

LAVENDER FIELDS, MONA

The lavender fields at Young Living Farms in Mona are gorgeous! They bloom most of July. You have to reserve a time before you go. Each hour costs $75. I’d recommend scheduling a time in March to get one of the sunset times.

albion basin, little cottonwood canyon

This location is probably the most iconic wild flower spot in Utah. The flowers usually bloom at the end of July. The flowers are stunning! Since this spot is so popular, there are ropes to keep you on the trails. The rangers don’t want people to trample the flowers, so you must stay on the path. However, they have about 5-6 photo spots that put you right in the middle of the flowers. The best time to go is a weekday. And don’t forget your bug spray!

Location fee is $10 at the toll booth.

Red Butte Garden

Beautiful location with so many photo spots with all sorts of flowers all throughout Spring and Summer. Requires entry and photography fee. Check here for those prices.

Other flower location ideas:

Guardsmans Pass- wildflowers

American Fork Amphitheater- Lilac Bushes
