Draper Temple & Le Jardin, Utah | Whitney & Cody Wedding

Whitney and Cody’s wedding was wonderful! Whitney really wanted a sunny day with fresh snow and she got it! It started out with a crazy blizzard but it cleared up and it was a perfect day with blue skies– just in time! Whitney and Cody came out of those temple doors on cloud nine. They greeted their family and friends then we started to take pictures but Cody went missing. Haha. He went back into the temple to get something. I thought it was odd timing, but he told me later that he accidentally left his wedding ring inside the bathroom. It wasn’t in there so he and a temple worker had to go on a hunt for it and finally found it in lost and found. I’m glad he found it! After that, we took pictures with their family and friends. It was so cold outside, but everyone were troopers. We warmed up a bit inside before going out to take formals. Whitney’s sister and her husband came with us (whose wedding I shot the month before) so it was so fun to see them again! We had fun taking pictures of course and Whitney did great even though she was freezing!

Their reception was at Le Jardin in Sandy, Utah. It is a gorgeous place for a reception! Some of my favorite things at the reception were:

  • They had ice cream from Leatherby’s served in waffle cones with a choice of every topping. It was delicious!

  • They had a photo booth where the guest’s pictures came out in mini printers. Then they could paste them in their sign in book.

  • They had a video and pictures of their formals all around the venue. I love that printed so many!

  • Whitney and Cody choreographed their first dance. It was so beautiful and sweet!

  • It was so fun to see Whitney’s family again. They are so kind!

  • Their send off was fun with the sparklers and the lavender.

I’m so happy for Whitney and Cody! Congrats you guys!

Payson Temple, UT | Jenny & Brian Wedding

Jenny and Brian were married on a beautiful December day at the Payson, Utah temple. I didn’t think it would be so busy the Saturday before Christmas, but there were 2 weddings at the same time as theirs. They were the last ones to come out of those 3 and I was so glad because we could take our time with their family greeting them. Their family was so so excited when they came out. Brian had some fun cuff links on that they all wanted to check out. Jenny has 4 older brothers and most of them were from out of town so it was a fun reunion for them! I loved getting that picture of the siblings- they are so funny! Both of their families were so nice and fun. After we did family pictures, we took formals. It was my first time meeting Jenny and Brian so it was fun to get to know them. They are such a witty, funny couple. I clicked with them instantly.

Congratulations Jenny and Brian!

Salt Lake Temple & This is the Place Heritage Park | Sarah & Dallan Wedding

Sarah and Dallan are married! They had a beautiful winter wedding at the Salt Lake Temple and reception at the Garden Place at This is the Place Heritage Park.

Some of my favorite things about their big day:

  • When Sarah and Dallan came out of the temple, Sarah started jumping up and down in excitement. I love how happy she is pretty much ALL the time. When they came down the stairs, her veil blew off and she grabbed it and threw it into the crowd.

  • After we did family and friend pictures, we went into the temple to warm up where we mapped out our plan for getting the most pictures around the temple as quickly as possible. After each spot, Sarah would run to the next spot. While she was running, her veil blew off again and I snapped a picture of Dallan grabbing it off the ground and running after her. It was the best. He’s gotta catch up after his runaway bride. Dallan got pretty good putting her veil back in. They’re the best!

  • They decorated the reception place so pretty. There were so many flowers and greenery and candles. It was gorgeous! My favorite thing was the bread table. It looked like a bakery and smelled like a bakery. They had different breads with choices of jam or honey and artichoke dip and cranberry jalapeno spread. I had some after and it was delicious.

  • Sarah is a 3rd grade teacher at an elementary school in Murray. It was so fun to see some of her students come to the reception and talk with her. She is so cute with them!

  • Sarah and Dallan have had the longest receiving line I’ve ever seen! I asked Sarah’s sister if it was mostly their parent’s friends, but she said they were mostly Sarah and Dallan’s friends. They are such a nice, down to earth couple that it didn’t surprise me one bit!

  • Sarah and Dallan’s first dance was awesome. They are amazing country swing dancers and so they showed off their moves!

  • For their send off, they gave their guests choices of throwing lavender, blowing bubbles or ringing a bell. They also held Christmas lights. I think most of them threw lavender at them. It was great!

It was a pleasure working with Sarah and Dallan. Congratulations you guys!!
